Main Light Promotes TJ Hays to Shop Foreman at Main Light Tri-State

July 24th 2026

Teterboro, NJ — July 2026 — Main Light is proud to announce the promotion of TJ Hays to Shop Foreman at Main Light Tri-State in Teterboro, NJ, effective July 20, 2026. In his new role, Hays reports to Jerry Trotta, Operations Manager of Main Light Tri-State. The move comes in response to Main Light's growing client base in the Tri-State market and strengthens the dry-hire rental company's ability to serve those clients as demand continues to build.

Hays' path to Shop Foreman has been built entirely within Main Light. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May 2022 with a lighting-focused theater arts degree and a goal of becoming a concert lighting designer. Wanting hands-on time with professional gear, he joined Main Light East in Wilmington, DE, as a Warehouse Technician. He quickly moved up to Moving Light Tech, and what began as a way to get familiar with the gear soon turned into a career path. When Main Light Tri-State opened on February 20, 2023, Hays was among its founding team members, testing, maintaining, and repairing most of the gear in the early days and going on to lead the Moving Light Team. In January 2026, he was promoted to Head of Electronics, overseeing the testing and maintenance of all lighting equipment in the shop.

“I'm excited to be in a role where I can help shape things as we keep building the Main Light brand,” said Hays. “This shop is personal to me. I've been here from the beginning, and watching it grow from an empty building into what it is today has been incredible. I'm proud to be a part of it and to keep growing with it.”

Main Light's owner and CEO, Michael Cannon, commented on the promotion, “The growth we have seen in the Tri-State market has been rapid, and staying ahead of that growth means putting the right people in the right positions. TJ knows the gear, he knows the team, and he knows our clients. This move is about making sure our clients continue to receive the quality of service they have come to expect from Main Light.”
