ALAMO, Nev. — October 2026 — Main Light has donated a complete stage lighting, audio and drapery package to Pahranagat Valley High School, located about 100 miles north of Las Vegas. The gift, valued at approximately $125,000, covers all-new equipment along with system design and installation, at no cost to the school. The new system replaces equipment that had served the school’s stage for four decades.

“Schools and churches are some of my favorite projects, because the gear doesn’t go back on a truck — it gets used every week. We designed this system so students can learn it quickly and the program can grow into it,” said Tina Rath, national new and used sales executive at Main Light, who designed and sourced the package.

“We are incredibly grateful to Main Light for their generous donation of new stage curtains, lighting, and sound system,” said Brooke Foremaster, principal of Pahranagat Valley High School and Middle School. “A donation like this doesn’t just impact our schools, but the whole community. This investment will have a lasting impact on all of our students, Pre-K through 12, by providing an amazing space where they can showcase their talents, celebrate accomplishments, and create memorable school experiences for years to come.”

The stage hosts plays, concerts and community events for the Pahranagat Valley schools, and it plays a growing role in the elementary music program. Three years ago, music teacher Kyla Linares brought Pahranagat Valley Elementary School into The Smith Center’s Disney Musicals in Schools program, and through it, students have traveled to The Smith Center in Las Vegas to see a professional performance firsthand.

“Kyla has done an amazing job,” said Mike Sparrow, principal of Pahranagat Valley Elementary School. “We got to go down to the Smith Center, and you see all the lights and the sound system and how it really adds to the production. If you have a place where you can go and perform at your best, it’s going to make a big difference for these kids.”

“Beginning with Disney Musicals, we have been building something that I hope will become a lasting part of our school and community,” Linares said. “Having a quality sound system, stage lighting, and curtains will allow our students’ hard work and talents to truly be showcased in a way that they deserve.”

The stage will see near-weekly use this school year, from musical rehearsals and middle school drama to a whole-school Christmas program and multi-night community performances of the spring musical.

Rath designed the system to be simple for students to learn and easy to expand. Lyntec relays complete the stage’s conversion to all-LED, and three gobo-capable ellipsoidals give the school custom projection for the first time, starting with the Panthers logo.

Equipment

Main Light partnered with Kenny Miller of Gear Tech on system design and power planning. In-House Productions of Las Vegas, led by Pat Bash and Eddie Bash, handled installation. Bobby Foremaster of Pahranagat Valley High School was trained on the new systems, with children enrolled in the theater program also slated to receive operational training.

For Main Light, the project is also an investment in the industry’s future. School stages are where many lighting designers and audio engineers first get their hands on a console, and students here will be trained to run this professional-grade system themselves. Supporting programs like this helps develop the next generation of live-event talent. It also reflects a growing part of Main Light’s business: sourcing permanent lighting and audio systems for schools, churches and community venues.
