Main Light Tri-State was proud to support the 2025 Fragrance Foundation Awards, supplying an extensive range of lighting and rigging equipment for the annual celebration of excellence in the fragrance industry. The prestigious event took place on June 5, 2025, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City, and included an awards ceremony followed by an elegant dinner reception.
The Fragrance Foundation Awards recognizes creativity, innovation and achievement in the fragrance industry – bringing together brands, creators and cultural figures for this special evening.
This year’s Awards were inspired by natural ingredients – floral, citrus, and spice – shaping the look and feel of the programming. The awards presentation was divided into three visual chapters, each guided by immersive video content and complemented by a lighting design that drew on each palette’s tone and mood. Using abstract textures and dynamic movement, the lighting evoked the feeling of each chapter while enhancing the evening’s narrative arc.
For this high-profile event, Main Light provided two full equipment packages for awards producer CS Global: one for the awards ceremony inside the theater and another for the immersive dinner experience that followed on the promenade.
In the Theater: Precision and Power
Reflecting the elegance of the David H. Koch Theater and the importance of the ceremony, the production team deployed a refined rig for flexibility and visual impact. Key equipment included:
- Ayrton Diablo-S for their compact power and sharp optics
- Robe Tetra 2 LED batten fixtures for smooth washes and kinetic beam effects
- Martin MAC One for their punchy beam and Aura backlight
- ETC Apex 5 and Gio @5 consoles for precision control
Astera Helios Tubes, Chauvet OnAir Panels, and Chroma-Q Studio Force 48s provided additional support.
Theater lighting was helmed by Senior Lighting Designer Coby Beck, Assistant Lighting Designer Isaac Anderson, Programmer Will Elphingstone, and Production Electrician Valentina Migoulia, whose work brought elegance and definition to the stage while keeping the focus on presenters and honorees.
In the Promenade: Immersive Elegance
The dinner atmosphere was set with a rich combination of warm tones, subtle textures and immersive uplighting, supported by a comprehensive selection of IP-rated, wireless and color-flexible fixtures. Notable highlights included:
- Astera AX2 100 and Astera Titan Tubes for their wireless flexibility and soft ambient washes
- Robe T2 Profiles for precision key lighting and effects
- Astera QuikSpot and Astera AX9 Pars to add punch and saturated color accents
- ETC Color Source Pars (Deep Blue) and ETC ColorSource V Spots for dynamic color tone across the space
- Arri SkyPanel S120s and Chroma-Q Studio Force 48s to layer in consistent media content lighting
- Truss support provided via 32 pieces of 5’ Tyler GT Truss
Executive Lighting Director Renée Molina, Assistant Lighting Designer Nyle Farmer, Programmer Andrew Diamond, and Production Electrician Sarah Arnold led the visual design of the dinner space, building a dynamic yet refined look aligned with the tone of the evening’s celebration.
“We always enjoy working on this event with The Fragrance Foundation and the team at the Koch. This gorgeous venue – with its many architectural elements and textures – is an exciting space to accent with light.
The Koch’s theater is beautiful and iconic, so a clean lighting plan is very effective. We love the Tetra 2s as shimmering eye candy effects for the audience and the Diablos punched above their weight to illuminate the audience reactions as the winners walked up to accept their awards.
For dinner, we let the beautiful architecture of the Promenade truly shine. By lighting the travertine stone fascia of each balcony ring and the gold leaf ceiling, we brought vertical movement into play and highlighted the volume of the room. The Promenade’s massive windows bring daylight in this space until after dusk, so we chose ColorSource Spot Vs and Robe T2 Profiles to give us more intensity in saturated colors. We used Astera fixtures to silhouette the filigreed balustrade, light the beaded curtain and accent both interior and exterior columns. Lighting these architectural elements allowed us a wonderful and varied tool set to transform the atmosphere throughout the evening – from an elegant dinner to elevated afterparty.”
