Main Light Expands its Inventory with Ayrton’s Khamsin Profile Luminaires

June 22nd 2022

Main Light, LLC, a preeminent dry hire rental partner, has recently added Ayrton’s Khamsin Profile luminaires to their extensive rental offerings.

These new units are already in stock at Main Light which has the following locations—Main Light, East in Wilmington, DE, Main Light, South in Nashville, TN, and Main Light, West in Las Vegas, NV.

“Our investment in the Ayrton Khamsin luminaires is a continuation of Main Light's desire to keep our inventory responsive to the needs of our clients so they can supply the wider industry,” says Main Light CEO Randy Mullican. “As a dry hire company, we must always be taking note of what are clients are requesting, and what trends we see as future needs, so that our inventory remains sufficiently relevant and prepared to provide the backup support to the industry's production companies.”

Ayrton's Khamsin-S, a newly designed profile luminaire for large venues, such as arenas and stadiums, employs a 750W LED module in a highly compact form factor, allowing for 60% more light output. To make the luminaire this compact, Ayrton has completely redesigned the light’s internal structure by using cast aluminum sides. The size of the cooling system was dramatically reduced and made even more efficient. This high-end luminaire also features a double rotating gobo wheel on a single axis that will allow users to achieve high-definition morphing effects.

The Khamsin-S is designed for scenic applications and is equipped with a new LED module, delivering powerful white light with an output of 40,000 lumens and a color temperature of 7,000K. The luminaire is fitted with 13 lenses, features a 158 mm front lens, and delivers an 8:1 zoom ratio with a zoom range of 7° to 58°. The high-quality optics offer excellent image reproduction and produce an extremely uniform flat beam with no hot spot, ensuring a homogeneous color mix regardless of the color combination selected. Khamsin also includes a CMY color mixing system, which, combined with a variable CTO and one wheel with six complementary colors, produces a wide palette of vivid pastels and saturated colors. The framing section allows accurate positioning of four shutter blades on a 100% surface area in all positions, so that the user can frame any object regardless of the luminaire’s position. The effects section includes two wheels with six interchangeable HD glass gobos; a continuous dynamic effects wheel; a 15-blade iris diaphragm; two frost filters: one light frost, one heavy frost; two rotating prisms: one circular with five facets, one linear with 4 facets.

“We are pleased to support our clients by investing in the latest technology and making that inventory available across the country in all three of our locations,” concludes Mullican. “As the industry embraces the excitement of heading into a busy summer season, we at Main Light are ready to help them meet the realities of high equipment demands.”
