Main Light Industries Tech Tip: Sharpy "Boards are missing" Error.
Your Clay Paky Sharpy is running just fine then all of the sudden it sstops and displays the error "Boards are Missing", it may be a may be the addressing dip switches on one of the PCBs.
Locate the motor driver PCB in the base of the unit and find the black DIP SWITCH BLOCK. (see photo below)
Move each switch to the opposite side of the block and back again. This will reseat and help to clean the switches. Now reboot the Fixture to see if the fixture runs more consistently.
Dirt and oxidation can build up over time. The switches can shift during shipping as well.
Fro more details on dip switch configurations go to www.claypaky.it. select Download , Choose a fixture. you will be prompted to sign in. If you do not have an account set up just follow the instructions below the login section. All you need is an email address.
Once you are logged in choose a fixture. Now look for the Spare parts section, there you should see, for most active units, the Spare Parts Finder Document. In the Parts finder is the Dip Switch Address table for the fixture you selected.

Main Light Industries Tech Tip: BEWARE OF THE SUN!
Many fixtures today use ultra high efficiency lenses. This means that when exposed to sunlight, units can become damaged internally. When the sunlight enters the front lens the beam is concentrated to the point that it can burn and melt internal parts. Intrusive sunlight can melt the inside of the head cover, burn sensors, burn trough and cut belts or even damage the optic. When working an outdoor event keep the unit lens pointed away from the sun and sky.
